I've had this on my TBR for a year and I started reading it after going to the Smart Chicks Kick It tour.

In one word Evermore was simply addicting.

At first it seems like it's going to be a bit like Twilight and I hate saying that because I hate when people say that. But I can't deny that's what went through my mind at first. But it is completely utterly different. Ever can read minds, she doesn't know how to turn it off and since the death of her family, she's had a hard time with allowing people to get close to her.

Ever kind of annoyed me, she was too dependent on other people but convinced herself she wasn't. She was constantly hot and cold over Damen and refused to hear him out, instead she would jump to conclusions about him and his actions. I liked her friend Miles, though I can't really tell you why at the current moment. I wasn't a fan of Haven and how easily she trusted Drina over Ever. Speaking of Drina? I hated her! Amazing villain! I cringed every scene she was in and she just... irritated me! I absolutely love Riley! I didn't think I'd like her so much, after reading a few reviews of Radiance I was under the impression that Riley was immature and annoying. But she was totally the opposite. I love her relationship with Ever and how she worried about her older sister. Now, Damen. I don't really know what to say about him. I like how he used flowers to express his feelings and how patient he was with Ever. Just wished Ever would give the guy a chance to explain things!

Even if I did find Ever annoying, I did enjoy the book and it's an excellent start to a series. I loved the characters and Alyson's take on immortals. I'm curious to know more and more about Summerland. I've always been interested in past lifetimes, and that might be a big reason why this book intrigued me. Even though it's about immortals and not... past lifetimes. Either way, I'm excited to read the rest of the series!

"Double no." I twist my hair into a bun, then stab it with a pencil to hold it in place.
"Well, don't take it out on your hair. I mean, jeez, what'd it ever do to you?" She laughs.

"They say hi too."
Miles shakes his head and looks at me. "I didn't say hi. Did you say hi?"
- Pg 212

  1. Thank you so much for this book! Although I didn't like the main character Ever, (I just found myself super annoyed with her 90% of the time! lol) I liked how it was about immortals and pyschic ablities. It's probably horrible of me to say this but I adore the cover! I literally "judge a book by its cover". Haha.

  2. I hated this book...lol. Not be a downer but it was one I should probably have quit reading but some sadistic part of me felt impelled to finish it.

Evermore does have similarities to Twilight but you're right that they are very different stories. It's an interesting take on immortals. Very different from vampires.

It does have a great cover. I'll give it that.

  3. Addictive is a very good word to describe this one. I really did like it, and quickly read the next one in the series, but I haven't read past it. Just haven't gotten around to it.

  4. I love Evermore! Damen is pretty dreamy, huh?! Just a warning though, Ever gets more annoying as the series progresses. I've just finished book #4 and she is driving me insane! lol!

Love the Halloween layout on here, btw. Looks great!
