I did it. I gave in. If you follow me on Twitter or Goodreads, this isn't new news. But I need to get this out. I really do.

I gave in. I'm currently reading The Hunger Games. I know, I'm a bit late on the hype, but honestly... I had no intention on reading this series. It just doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in. But after the whole Mockingjay hype, my husband asked me to read The Hunger Games. And he kept asking. And asked some more...

So I gave in and started reading it. I'm almost done. We're actually reading it together. Or well, he's listening to the audio and I'm reading along. And I have to admit...

I'm obsessed.

Yes, I said it. I, Marie, is obsessed with The Hunger Games. Seriously, I have been missing out! I mean, the book still doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in... but every time I pick it up, I have to force myself to put it down!

Katniss annoys me a bit though... she's so dense when it comes to Peeta. And Peeta, oh wonderful and funny Peeta *swoon. I also liked Rue and I have a few questions to ask Suzanne Collins when I go to her signing next month! I can't wait to get my hands on Catching Fire! I'm a little nervous about Mockingjay since I heard a lot of people were disappointed with it. But it does sound epic. I can't wait to see what happens next!

  1. Hooray for finally reading it! And I agree with how clueless Katniss is about Peeta. If I knew Peeta loved me...*swoon* 'nuff said. ;)

Enjoy the rest of the books!

  2. I gave in as well, not too long ago. It was so worth it! I'm not sure what I was thinking by putting it off!

  3. I am so glad you are reading this book! The series is really good. I got annoyed by Katniss too, but loved them anyway. Catching Fire was my favorite of the three

  5. Yay, another Peeta fan. I <3 him! I thought Mockingjay rocked, but I know others didn’t feel the same.

  7. Yeah, I love this book! I haven't gotten to the second book, yet, but I love the first one so much! Glad you finally caved in. Sometimes, people are right...

Where is Suzanne Collins doing a book signing?

  8. Glad you gave in, then! I personally couldn't stand the second book (Katniss got really, REALLY stupid in it) but Mockingjay came out brilliant and completely made up for it in my mind!

  10. This series kinda passed me by until part 3 came out and then suddenly the internet kept on coming up with "Mockingjay this" and "Mockingjay that" and I was very surprised when the famous "Mockingjay" book came into the bookshop where I work to find out it was part 3 of a series I'd seen but not noticed at all. And now "The Hunger Games" is sitting on my desk shelf, waiting for me to finish my current reads, and I've no idea what to expect. It doesn't look like the sort of thing I'd like at all - and on the other hand it's been hyped up so much I'm expecting to be pleasantly surprised. I'm glad you're enjoying it, and hope I will too.
